The chorus is proud to be under the direction of Darwin Scheel, tenor of the
2006 Evergreen District champion quartet,"
The Dean's List", who also took first place at the 2007 Forest Grove
Ballad Town contest!
Darwin has been surrounded by barbershop music his entire life, with both his parents
participating in this music style. He was in his first chorus, "Rose City Close Harmony Music Men", when he was 14
and directed his first chorus in his late teens. Darwin has sung in several other quartets, including "Sunny Day Sound" and the 1988 Evergreen District Champion quartet, "Four Crying Out Loud".
Darwin was first introduced to directing Sweet Adeline choruses when he took over the directing
of the Cherry City chorus in Salem, Oregon. Shortly after that he became the
director of the Columbia River Chorus, which has many achievements. We have
sung in Austria and Washington D.C., as well as various places in the Pacific Northwest.
